This Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the first day of Fair Trade Week, the Haute-École Provinciale de Liège (HEPL) celebrated its academic start at its 2000 campus in Seraing. It was therefore the ideal date to organize the awarding of the title "Fair Trade Schools & Universities" (www.ftsu.be) to the institution which has invested in the project in a remarkable way over the last few months. The commitment initially received the official support of the Collège Provincial de Liège. This was followed by a series of various actions such as oral interventions in courses, testimonies from Liège entrepreneurs such as Stany Herman de la Brasserie Coopérative Liégeoise, of Jean-Christophe Hubert de Millésime Chocolat, marketing studies, seminars and awareness stands which enabled more direct contact with students and which led to the establishment of internships. Many thanks to Mrs Sandra Landres and Mrs Hélène Damuseau, as well to everyone involved in this project, which represents the beginning of a process with a view to anchoring the fair trade’s social and ecological values in the life of HEPL Campus 2000 !
